The Art Of Attraction Marketing

People Do Not Join Businesses. People Join People.

Here’s a quick example of what I mean…
You are working on a project and discover you need a hammer. Home Depot and Lowe’s offer the same hammer. You are now faced with a choice as to where you want to make your purchase. (Simple analogy, and no offense to neither. I personally think both Home Depot and Lowe’s provide superior customer service).

Let’s say you walk into Home Depot and the associate you speak to gives you a hammer and says…“Buy this one.” He never gives you specific reasons as to why he believes the hammer would be beneficial to you. He just hands it to you and continues on his way.

Now, you walk into Lowe’s. The associate in the “hammer department” asks you what your needs are and specifically what your intended end result is. He gives you choices and shows you the benefits of the different types of hammers, allowing you to make your own decision based on the information he offers.

Where are you gonna buy your hammer?

The concept I am describing in this post, is something called Attraction Marketing. When Mike Dillard brought the concept of attraction marketing to the network marketing industry many years ago, he created a product based on building a business through the principles of human nature. It’s not rocket science. It’s the psychology of business. People want to do business with people they like and trust, who give value and provide solutions to their problems.

We've all heard the expression, " the product sells itself" and that is true to some extent but in a niche where there are a dozen products all touting the same properties tied to essentially the same compensation plans that product or business probably won't "sell itself". As the above article points out, people ultimately buy the products or join the business because of you, the promoter not so much what you are promoting. Mastering the art of "attraction marketing" is the key to success in online marketing, as I see it.
