Using social media for text ad sales is not very effective, even on social sites that are for business. Text ads are for text ad exchanges, PPC and classified ads. Twitter's social site format is the most conducive for text ads but it is far more effective to develop relationships on Twitter than it is to constantly make your Tweets text ads. Relationships are built on social media by taking a real interest in what others are doing via post comments or replies, as well as sharing other's content through your own social media circles.

Doing these social activities will incite others to look more closely at your social media profiles to see what products, services or programs you promote and now because they feel you are someone they know and trust they are more inclined to become a referral or customer. (This makes it vitally important to have good profiles on all the social sites you are a member of.) In social media marketing relationships come before sales.

  1. That's true. Any business with good relations before sales will always win the deal and a business with good relations even after sales will win the world of business.
