Facebook is the girlfriend you would be happy to take home to dinner with your parents but Twitter is often seen as a bit too quirky, strange and cheap to introduce to the family and folks.
Too short and dumpy for most.
If you take the time to get to understand Twitter with its quaint 140 character limit and its charming simplicity, it can be a very powerful tool to distribute information and ideas in real time to enhance your marketing and promotion efforts.
Twitter has some advantages that are sometimes not seen as a strength.

2. Focused and Targeted
3. Highly Shareable

Twitter is probably looked at by many as of little value to online marketers compared to Facebook or LinkedIn but that is an inaccurate assumption. Twitter has come a long way from the early Tweets about what we had for breakfast. Now the Twitter micro-blogs are made to targeted audiences in specific niches. If you only follow network marketers then all your followers will be network marketers inclined to read and respond to many of your network marketing Tweets. Re-Tweeting or others re-Tweeting your Twitter posts is what can make Twitter into a viral marketing machine. There is still a need to be sociable on Twitter and not be "spammy" but Twitter is a powerful "real time" social media medium to promote our Biz-Ops, programs and websites. We neglect Twitter to our own detriment.
Good article Roosevelt and you make some valid points.
