Thanks to the Internet, it is easy to build up a relationship with someone before even meeting face to face. Find people on Twitter or Facebook and start contacting potential clients that way. Have a blog or website that people can visit and communicate with you that way.

I have often felt that not everyone, especially introverts, can be good at selling or be a great salesperson but everyone can be effective networkers. Networking is not primarily about selling some product or service but more about selling yourself as someone with something of value to share. The Internet offers the shy and introverted personality, through blogs, articles and social site profiles, the perfect medium to network with others successfully without face to face contact. Business relationships with others as customers and affiliate referrals can be initiated and maintained entirely through e-mail messages while augmented by occasional skype and phone conversations. Introverts can successfully network thanks to the power of the Internet.

I have often wondered about this. You write that and introverted person can make sales by talking on the phone, but honestly I find talking on the phone more frightening than meeting someone in person. Is it really necessary to talk on the phone in order to close a sale?
