The Marketing Monkey Mind

Recently I sat down with Tony Wong, a project management blackbelt whose client list includes Toyota, Honda, and Disney, to name a few. He’s an expert in keeping people on task, so I thought he’d be a good person to ask.
Here are his tips for staying productive:

Work backwards from goals to milestones to tasks.

 Stop multi-tasking.

 Be militant about eliminating distractions.

 Schedule your email.

 Use the phone.

 Work on your own agenda.

Work in 60 to 90 minute intervals.

Most of us struggle with what Zen practitioners call the "monkey mind" or the distracted and not focused mind. That sort of mindset doesn't work well in network marketing but is easy to slip into if we are not careful. We think that "multi-tasking" is what we need to do in our online marketing but in fact 'multi-tasking" hurts us, as online marketers. No more surfing ten traffic exchanges at the same time! I am also committed to using the phone and skype more this year in my online marketing business. A focused mind gets more things done. Are you focused?
